Many older adults have difficulty transferring from their favorite overstuffed chair or sofa. Many times the furniture is too low for an easy transfer. The elder adult may plop down onto the sofa or chair due to weakened thigh muscles (quadriceps). For the same reason have difficulty coming to a stand. Much energy is exerted to perform these transfers. This devicemay help the individual to stand or gently sit safely. Its handle can be adjusted to meet the height of the user. Its base is adjustable and reversible so it can be used on either side of the sofa or chair.
